New website and February update

Lots has been going on since the last blog post & as you can see, we have finally got ourselves together to get a proper website up. Here you can check out what is quietly going on in the barn – providing I keep it updated…

We were delighted to have Magic Rock down in December to brew our 1st collaboration beer (seemed somewhat fitting as I brewed their 1st one with them way back when…) Anyways, the idea for the beer was to brew an IPA that would (and indeed is), age in one of our foudres with our brettonamyces strain for 3 months, to replicate as best we could a traditional IPA. So far the beer is all I was hoping for – really refined and contemplative. In a few weeks, the beer will be dry hopped then kegged and bottled. It will be launched here.

Our final brew of 2013 was a black beer, it is ageing in foudre no. 3 with brett & lacto cultures. We are unsure when it will be ready – anticipate sometime late Autumn this year but early tastings are showing great things are ahead.

This coming week, we are brewing 5000ltrs of a Flanders style red ale. 2500ltrs will go to foudre no. 4, with the remaining going to Burgundy barrels. This will be aged for a minimum of 12-18 months before 1st release, there will be some mono blend & after that, well we’ll see…

In the meantime, I would like to thank everyone who has given us so much support over the last 4 months since we started trading. Pubs, punters, breweries, friends and family – you know who you are & we couldn’t have done it without you.

Just wish The Snowdrop was my local but The Aleksander, Twickenham are doing you proud.
    All the best, John M.
